OUR SUMMER WEDDING DAY AT RAMSTER

Jul 29, 2019

We are handing over the blog today to one of our beautiful Summer brides, to tell us a little about her wedding day at Ramster. It may have rained but it didn’t ruin a very special day which we were delighted to be part of.

What made you choose Ramster?

We knew we wanted a no-corkage venue & when googling, Ramster Hall was one of the venues that came up.

We viewed it in January, never a great month to view a venue known for its beautiful grounds & gardens, however driving down the driveway and seeing the Hall for the first time, we knew straight away it was the venue for us.

The décor throughout the three rooms is just stunning & the fairy lights in the Long Hall nailed it for us!

Tell us about your wedding – which suppliers did you use? Did you have a particular theme?

We didn’t follow a particular theme, we knew the venue could speak for itself, so we didn’t want to have too many distractions which would take away from that.

Therefore, only the bridal party had bouquets & buttonholes which an Aunt of a friend did for us.  Our centre pieces were large buckets filled with beer, wine & soft drinks…. which everyone made the most of!  Our stationary was through Vistaprint, people were really surprised when we told them that.  DJ Mark was amazing, we did give him a list of songs that we would like played but there were far too many & some random ones, so we told him to use his judgment on what would work and he got it spot on.  Our friend, Jos Baker (@joscaker on Instagram) did our 3-tier wedding cake. We had a chocolate, lemon & gluten-free vanilla which were covered in simple buttercream decorated with offcuts of our flowers.

Did you have any unique or different details that you would like to share?

We didn’t arrange a videographer however asked a friend to film a few bits throughout the day & edit it together for us. The video he produced was amazing & very personal for us which makes it even more special.  I would recommend doing something like this if you can’t afford the extra expense of a videographer as it is nice to have something to play back after the wedding as opposed to just the photographs.

We cut our cake during our short ceremony (as we had a church ceremony for just family & the bridal party beforehand, so our friend officiated this for us) and then had it as canapes. I managed to get a piece during the reception but Jess from Jacaranda presented me with a tin-foil package of some that she had saved for us when the wedding had finished, which made me so happy!

What was the best part of the day?

I don’t think I can pin-point one bit of the day. It was just amazing yet went by so fast!

Is there anything you would change?

Not a single thing!

Unless we can change the weather & then I’d really like it not to rain so I could walk around without holding my train & veil, but that didn’t detract from the day.

Tell us a little about Jacaranda and the food on your day?

Jacaranda were just amazing. I bombarded Jess with a number of emails & phone calls in the run up to the day and on the day she was just great, helping with everything.

Everyone has commented on the food & how amazing it was; we’ve been told by one couple that it was the best vegetarian main they’ve ever had at a wedding. Whilst others have seconded this about the whole meal….we have to agree.

The staff were so attentive & friendly…they even packed everything back into the van for us at the end of the night so we wouldn’t have to do it the next day when we collected everything.

What are your top tips for couples planning their wedding at Ramster?

Ramster Hall is amazing, you don’t need to go over the top with decorations as it is a decoration in itself.   Don’t sweat on the small issues you may think will arise, as they most likely won’t & if they do, Jacaranda have everything in hand to ensure you won’t notice!
